Hushpuppi’s Lawyers To Withdraw From His Case As He Refuses To Communicate With Them
The lawyers representing accused cyber criminal, Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi have reportedly submitted an application to the court to withdraw from representing him.
According to Premium Times, Mr Gal Pissetzky and Ms Vicki Podberesky recently filed the motion at the United States District Court in California. Hushpuppi is reportedly not speaking with the lawyers, hence the withdrawal.
Hushpuppi who was arrested alongside Mr Woodberry are facing several charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering conspiracies, international money laundering and engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity.
“After months of discussions with Mr. Abbas and negotiations with the government, Mr Abbas now refuses to effectively communicate with me.
“I have made numerous attempts through family and jail staff to have Mr Abbas call me to discuss critical issues. Mr Abbas, however, has not communicated with me. Both family and jail staff have told me that they have conveyed my messages to Mr Abbas to call me,” Mr Gal Pissetzky’s application reads in part.
The lawyer also reveals Hushpuppi has retained a new lawyer already, “He informed me that he is retaining new counsel. I informed him that I and Ms. Podberesky were moving to withdraw given his refusal to communicate and cooperate with us,” he said.
