..advised opposition to join hands with state government

The Ekiti State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the Etkiti state Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, who it said has again put smiles on faces of workers in the state public service by fulfilling his government’s promise to pay the new minimum wage.

“The administration, since its inception, has made it a point of duty to boost the morale of government workers through prompt payment of their wages”. The party said in a statement on Sunday.

The statement signed and released by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Elder Sam Oluwalana continues; ” The Governor did not stop there, it ensures that issues of outstanding salaries and allowances are addressed with the government offsetting the backlog at every opportunity”.

“The new minimum wage, which has set some states against their workers, is being addressed in a systemic way in the state, without the industrial unions raising their voice.

“Dr Fayemi has started the implementation of the minimum age. Workers on levels one to six have been enjoying it, now levels seven to12 have joined.

“With levels one to 12 workers now being paid the minimum wage in Ekiti state, the year 2021 will definitely witness industrial peace with the workers showing more commitment to their assigned duties”.

” As the state government is showing more commitment to make workers happy, it has not deviated from addressing other exigencies in other sectors of the economy”.

Elder Oluwalana further observed that the massive achievements of Dr Fayemi’s administration have in no doubt dumbfounded the opposition People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) and sent its members into slumber.

The statement also pointed out that roads, health and general welfare of the people are equally been accorded topmost priority with the various communities now feeling what governance is actually about.

The party reiteirates Dr Fayemi’s promises to make life better for the people and to leave the state better than he met it.

The statement also took a swipe at what it discribed as an indolent opposition in the state that only thrives on rumours and innuendos.
He advised the traducers of the Kayode Fayemi administration to join it in its quest to make life better for the residents of the state.

“Their latest gaffe being the rumour that herders have moved to Ekiti from Ondo state.

“They can’t even solve the internal crisis ravaging them, and put their house in order, the latest being the botched reconciliatory meeting held at Ibadan during the week.”. The statement explained.
