The Government of Ekiti State has waded into the disagreement between Ikoro and Ipoti towns over  the designated headquarters of the newly created Irede Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

In a peace meeting held at the Governor’s Office on Monday with the monarchs and Chiefs from Ijero Local Government, the State Government sued for peace between the warring communities.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Biodun Omoleye who presided over the meeting assured that Government would look into the matter critically and thereafter make a just and fair decision on it.

The Chief of Staff pleaded with the two communities to allow peace to reign pending government investigation into the matter.

The Communities, through their spokesmen, promised not to kick against the decision of the State government, adding that the creation of the new LCDAs would restore their glory and make government presence closer to them at the grassroots.
